Just a Friendly FAFSA Reminder...

Just stopped by on this super cold Saturday to remind you that today would be a PERFECT day to file your Free Applicaiton for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), if you haven't already done so. This is especially true for my high school seniors.  The Federal Government advises all potential Freshmen to file their FAFSA forms no later than January 15th.  In case you hadn't realized, that would be tomorrow!  Head over www.fafsa.gov and fill out the online form today.

A few tips for first time FAFSA filers (and all filers for that matter).

If you parents have yet to file their 2012 taxes you can make estimations based on last year's taxes.  Also be sure to  indicate that you are interested all types of federal aid ( including federally subsidized student loans and federal work study).  Make sure you include yoursef when answering questions about the number of people in your family presently enrolled in college/graduate school.  And again, submit your FAFSA as soon as you can.  Colleges and universities receive federal aid monies in one lump sum and students receive financial assistance on a first come, first serve basis. If you wait until the last minute, you run the risk of the well running dry.  The FAFSA is used to determine your financial need and many college consider financial need when making admissions decisions and allocating institutional/merit scholarships. Don't let any opportunity for free money to pass you by.  It behooves you to boogie on over to www.FAFSA.gov and handle your business, today!

Happy Saturday Folks!

Dear High School Seniors, File Your FAFSAS ASAPTUALLY!

Hey Hey.. I know it's been a while and things are looking different.  I've been making some changes and gearing up to relaunch the site and things are not quite ready but I had to break my silence for this very important announcement. * Clears throat*  File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid as soon as you can. Federal monies are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.  In putting off the FAFSA you could literally be putting your grants/scholarships and subsidized loans into someone else's pocket.  Please.. Don't miss this bus children. Although deadlines are much much later, remember that financial aid is usually given on a first come first serve basis.  Freshmen are already at the bottom of the barrel.  It is suggested that most students file their FAFSA by January 15th.
