High School Summer Research Internship Program- Drexel University College of Medicine
Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 2:01PM Today I've got info on an opportunity for high schoolers in the Philadelphia/New Jersey area. We're talking a solid $1500 for eight weeks this summer at a minimum of 25 hours a week. I doubt you'll find a comparable part time summer gig for 16 year olds that's legal and half as rewarding. Don't miss the bus!
Drexel University College of Medicine provides paid Summer Research Internships (HSSRI) to students from area high schools with an interest in biomedical research. The HSSRI program provides students with an opportunity to enhance their understanding of current biological/biomedical principles and their analytical/technical skills in a research environment.
Research interns are mentored by Drexel Med faculty, who work in various disciplines, including biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, neuroscience, microbiology, immunology, pathobiology, pharmacology and physiology.
To apply you need to submit an application, letter of recommendation and an official transcript. Preference is given to residents of the immediate PA/NJ area. All application materials are available online and can be submitted online as well via electronic signatures.
Applications are due March 1, 2011.
That leaves you three whole weeks to get your life together.
